AVI 9520 ARRv3 Airborne Rugged Router

The AVI 9520 ARR Airborne Rugged Router is a small form factor, rugged airborne network router and switch providing secure, on demand connectivity and timing for airborne, mobile or fixed deployments in hostile environments.

The AVI 9520 ARR (version 3) is the latest in advanced rugged networking technology, providing 1PPS Timing, NTP, PTP, Gigabit Ethernet Routing and Switching, Cisco 6300 ESR and Cisco 3300 ESS Hardware, and Cisco IOS-XE within an AVI Hardened Chassis.

For mission-critical mobile communications in harsh environments, the AVI 9520 ARRv3 provides extremely accurate 1PPS timing signal with atomic clock precision to the tactical network and ensures reliable connectivity and clock synchronisation between variable latency networks.
Built-in rechargeable battery to maintain atomic clock time when device power is off, minimises start-up time and provision of precise 1PPS and network time without GPS acquisition. The atomic clock maintains precise time in GPS disrupted or denied environments.

The high-performance Cisco hardware and Cisco IOS-XE software extends the use of Cisco Layer 3 routing and Layer 2 switching into an extremely mobile communications system. The AVI 9520 ARRv3 provides highly secure yet scalable data, voice and video communications capability to stationary and mobile network nodes across wired and wireless links.

The Cisco IOS XE operating system offers rich Layer 2 switching features provided within the Cisco Network Essentials (Layer 2) feature set and is verified FIPS 140-2 for the incorporated IOS Common Cryptographic module; with National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP) Common Criteria (CC).

The power system supports wide range power input, enabling supply via aircraft, vehicle or battery power sources at 16-40 VDC, EMI filtering on the power input provides multi-stage differential-mode and common-mode passive EMI filtering to meet the requirements of DO-160G and MIL-STD-461E for the AVI 9520.

Using a milled aluminium, conduction cooled enclosure and high-grade components with extended operating temperature range, the hermetically sealed AVI 9520 airborne rugged router is optimised for operation in hostile environments that require reliable and secure routing and switching technology with atomic clock timing precision.
