The AVI SDN 5942 Software Defined Networking platform is an extremely mobile communications system with maximum technology capability within a single hardened chassis, for reliable and secure routing, switching and technology performance in hostile environments and critical situations for both mining and military applications.
The AVI SDN 5942 is a next generation software defined networking platform, providing 8x Gigabit Ethernet, 2x Gigabit Fibre ports and Cisco IOS® compatible hardware in an AVI rugged chassis.
The AVI SDN 5942 router is compatible with Cisco services such as Cisco Communications Manager Express, GPS and Network Time Protocol Server.
The AVI SDN 5942 system delivers reduced Size, Weight and Power (SWaP) requirements, with maximum technology capability within a single rugged chassis.
The high performance Intel® Core™ processor and Cisco® 5921 ESR Software delivers Cisco routing IOS into an extremely mobile communications system. The AVI SDN 5942 provides highly secure yet scalable data, voice and video communications capability to stationary and mobile network nodes across Ethernet and Fibre links.
Integrated GPS receiver and Network Time Protocol Server enables the AVI 5942 SDN to provide clock synchronisation for the deployed network.
Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express (UCME), coupled with the provision of two PoE Ethernet ports enables the AVI SDN 5942 to deliver voice services via VOIP phones or extension to the AVI 6720 FXS interface.
The power system supports wide range power input, enabling supply via aircraft, vehicle or battery power sources at 10-30 VDC. EMI filtering on the power input provides multi-stage differential-mode and common mode passive EMI filtering.
Using a milled aluminium, conduction cooled enclosure, and high-grade components with extended operating temperature range, the AVI SDN 5942 is optimised for operation in hostile environments that require reliable and secure routing, switching and network technology.
